To sum up all of the graph I believe that the graph shows that the more popular sports are sports where there is a lot of places where the sports can be played, therefore more people get involved and take part in these sports. An example of this is that you could go to any football pitch and play football or you could go to any swimming pool and go for a swim. But on the other hand you could not just go down to a local field to do archery because the correct equipment and the correct environment is needed for this activity to be able to take place.

Participation in sport plays a big role in the sporting industry. This is because if the sporting industry has new people playing the sports, then the children and the adults will become more healthier and will live a better lifestyle. There are many other reasons besides being healthy why people take part in sport, these reasons and things like: people believe it is fun and people do it to socialise with friends.
This graph shows that swimming has the highest amount of participation. This may be because a lot of people go swimming because it keeps them fit and also it can be done in any weather conditions. This is because the swimming pools are inside so instead of people maybe going on a jog they may choose to go for a swim instead. The graph shows that football is the second most participated sport. This is because in the UK football is very popular and a lot of people play it at different ages. The reason why swimming may be higher then football is because the results are for women and men and due to women not playing football as much as men, football finished second in the results graph. This may be why again athletics is so high up in the chart as the third most played sport. This is because different people (males and females) can do athletics, therefore it is so high up in the graph. At the bottom of the graph there are sports like judo, fencing and archery. This may be because not a lot of people are interested in these sports and they are not that popular to people in the country. This may be because people do not find them enjoyable or another reason could be because there is not alot of places that people can take part in these sports.

An example of this is that you could go to any football pitch and play football or you could go to any swimming pool and go for a swim. But on the other hand you could not just go down to a local field to do archery because the correct equipment and the correct environment is needed for this activity to be able to take place.
The graph above shows what sports different people do in a sport class. The graph shows that football is the sport that is played the most by people in the class. This is because out of the 12 people that were questioned, 11 said that they played football. The next most popular sport in the class after football was cycling. This is because 3 people in the class said that they did cycling. Boxing and weightlifting were both sports which were played by 2 people in the class and all of the other sports in the graph (swimming, athletics, squash, table tennis, rugby and rowing) were only played by one person in the class. This may be because the 11 people that do football may not have time to do alot of other sports therefore the amount of people that did the other sports would be lower. The top two, cycling and football, are probably the top two because you do not have to have a specific area or place to do the sport. This is because you can play football at any local field or park and you can ride your bike anywhere you want (like on the streets). The sports that were played by less people are sports like table tennis and rowing, this is because you need specific areas and equipment to do the sport and the people in the class may not have these specific things. Boxing and weightlifting are done by two people, this is because boxing and weightlifting can easily be done but when you have bought the correct equipment, for example you need to buy the weights and the boxing bag and gloves and then when you have bought them you can do it whenever you want. This is probably why it is done more than sports like table tennis but is not done as much as football.
To sum up all of the graph I believe that the graph shows that the more popular sports are sports where there is a lot of places where the sports can be played, therefore more people get involved and take part in these sports. Over the years a lot of money gets spent on different components of sports and very year this number is way up in the millions. Money gets spent on different things in the world of sport and each components helps another component when something happens to it. For example every year more people are buying things from the sports shops, this is good for the people who work at the shops because then they are making money therefore they will have a job for a long period of time. Also over the past few years more and more money has been used to built and create new football pitches. This is good because then this allows more children and adults to be able to use the facilities therefore this will have a good impact on the economy because then more people will be fitter and playing sports. This increase in participation will also increase the amount of people that are buying sports equipment and sports clothing. For example if there is a new football pitch the people and the players are going to buy some new trainers to play in therefore this is benefiting the sports shops. Also over the past few years serveys have shown that more and more people are getting involved in sports. This is good because if the amount of people playing is increasing then the standard will increase because there will be more potential professional players. This is good because if the sport is being played at a higher level then more and more people will watch the sport. This therefore will have a good impact on sports gambling because if more people are watching the sport then more people are going to want to bet on it. This is good because the more people that put bets on, the more chance the betting shops have of making money. Finally if more people are taking part in sports and are getting involved, it will result in more people being fitter and lower the chances of obesity. This is good and will have a positive impact on the economy because then as a whole, the economy will be a good, healthy one.
Conclusion
To conclude i believe that sport has a good, positive impact on the UK. This is because it allows more people to take part in something which they enjoy and also it allows people (whilst playing the sport they enjoy) to keep fit and health. Due to this idea that sport improves the fitness of people we see that in the UK sport plays an important role in peoples lives and without it, people would not be as fit and therefore would not be as healthy. The only negative impact which sport has on the UK is that it can cause people to become addicted to sports gambling and therefore could result in people loosing a substantial amount of money. But this can also be looked at in a positive way because people that bet on the sports could have one good bet which would mean they would receive a lot of money. Schools in the UK are also affected in a good way because of sports, this is because it influences the students and gives them something to take part in, inside and outside of school or college.
Not only does sport affect the people that are playing or watching but it also affects everybody in the UK. This is because if more people are getting involved in sports then this will keep people (teenagers) off the street therefore the crime rate will be lowered. This is good because then the UKs police will not have to focus on these specific people but can concentrate on more important things. Therefore as a whole, sport has a good impact on the people that play, the people that watch, and also the people of the United Kingdom.

The 2002 commonwealth games had a big impact on the local community. This is because it created things for the local people. The commonwealth games created more leisure opportunities, created a metrolink and also new facilities were provided. The commonwealth games in 2002 created more leisure opportunities because it gave people something to go and attend and after the games had finish it also gave the people chances to go and visit where the games took place. This is good because it would then give people a chance to visit a place where an important even took place which could only happen once in the persons life. Also due to the commonwealth games, a metrolink was created. This is because when the commonwealth games was on the people needed to be able to travel to different places so the local area had a metrolink built. This is good because now the games have ended, the metrolink is still there therefore the locl community has been effected in a good way (because they now have a metrolink). Also the local community would have benefited from the 2002 commonwealth games in a good way because new facilities was bulit. This is good because it gives the local people in the community a chance to use the new facilities and therefore this is encouraging the local people to do more exercise. This is good because if the poeple in the local community are doing exercise then they will stay fit and healthy. Also the new facilities could provide schools with an opportunity to offer a trip to the people in the school to go and visit one of the arena's where the games took place. This is good because then the school will be able to teach the children and offer them a good trip at the same time.
The 2002 commonwealth games also had a big impact on local employment. This is because the commonwealth games created both an opportunity to provide local people with a job and also allowed people to do voluntery work, which are both good, positive things. It is good that the games gave people in the local community jobs because this made the local people money in the times that the games were on. This is good because this was an opportunity for people that may have been made redundant or for people that cant find a job to have work and to make money for themselves. Also besides making money for themselves, the local people were doing a good job for their local community. This is because people that are traveling from around the country and around the world will have come to the event and will have been treated well and will have seen the people working, which therefore would have gave them a good impression on the local area. This is good because this could mean that potentially in the future, they could want to move to the Manchester due to the quality service which they recieved. Also the 2002 commonwealth games also provided people with an opportunity to do some work without getting any money for it (voluntery work). This is good because it provides the people with something to put on their CV, that they helped out in a big event in Manchester and did not get paid for it. This is good because it shows that the people are willing to work at a big event for no money, therefore this could potentially result in them getting a good job in the future. Also the final good reason about the people doing the voluntery work could not be because of the local employment but it could simply be because they could say that they helped in the 2002 commonwealth games. This is good because they got involved in a big event in the country therefore it is something they can live with and something which they can be proud about.
The 2002 commonwealth games also had a big impact on education. This is because the commonwealth games will have been an opportunity for schools to offer trips to their students to go and visit the commonwealth games and to use some of the facilities that the games were played on. Also the children could have a tour around the stadium, in Manchester, where it all took place. Also the commomwealth games may have encouraged more people in schools to start to participate in sports whilst they are at school, which is good because this would be keeping more children fit and would also be improving the standard of the school teams. When the commonwealth games had finished Manchester City football club moved into where the commonwealth games took place and had all of the facilities and the stadium. This is good because it improves the standard of the club and allows them to have more facilities which could lead to bigger and better opportunties. For example because they have the space and the facilities, the club are going to bulid their own Manchester City Sixth Form College. This will be good because then the children from Manchester who attend the sixth form will be recieving top quality teaching and also will have the top facilities avaliable to use. This is good because the standard of learning will be better and the students will be more active. If the commomwealth games in 2002 had never took place however, then the club would not have moved into the facilities, therefore this Sixth Form College would not have been a possible idea.

In this blog i am going to be investigating and writing about: The scale of sport in the UK, the economic importance, what type of providers the Uk has for sport and how I think that I can take a value of sport in the Uk.
In order to do this I need to know what is mean by scale. I knoq that scale means how big something is. This could mean how many people are going to the Olympics or how many football clubs there are in the Uk. I know that to find out the scale of sport in the UK I am going to have ti research and get figures for the amount of clubs and poeple that attend certain events.
Also i need to know what the economic importance of UK sport is. I know that the economic importance is the social and the financial benefits. This means how it can effect people in a positive way. I am going to answer this section by talking about how people treat sports as different things. These different things will consist of poeple treating sports as hobbies, exercise, jobs, education, financial impacts and also tourism. Through talking about all of these points I will then be able to show how economically important sport is in the UK.
I will also need to know what providers the UK has for sport.
